An early morning post…
February 15th, 2005We did absolutely nothing last night for V day (and we usually don't anyway) I was to go to Ithaca for a knitting group but decided not to go, 1) because of V Day and 2) the roads were a tad icy.
So we had dinner and watched tv. Thats it. I didn't even get to knit anything as Connor was firmly on my lap and not about to leave.
The excitement for yesterday was Cassidy's innaugural bus ride home. They had told me at the school yesterday that she would be on the "second run" of three and would arrive home around 3:30ish. So I sat here watching and watching for her bus. Buses would go by and not stop. So by 4PM I was a bit panicked. I called her school and asked which run she would be on because she wasn't home yet, and the secretary after asking me to hold for a few minutes said "she should be home already!" She said "oh she probably fell asleep on the bus or the driver forgot to stop, Let me call you back and we'll find out where she is"
OMG! I started pacing the floor, kept myself from calling Richard at work and imagining the worst that could possibly happen. So the phone rings again and its the secretary from the school. Turns out Cassidy is on the LAST bus run and should be home any minute. Sure enough, just as I was saying goodbye to her, Cassidy comes through the door. *sigh*
She had a great day. Her classmates made her a valentines mailbox since she was not there on Friday and she got valentines from most of the children (she had written out valentines "to my new friend" on Sunday night) She told me all about her new best friend, and how good lunch was. I no longer have any worries about her adjusting
more later!
