Where has the week gone?
April 16th, 2005Wow..it just flew by! And I really have nothing of great interest to blog either!
I did pick up the Nantasket Basket pattern so beautifully created by Susan. I casted on a test run with some New Zealand wool I have in my stash. This NZ wool is of little use in a garment because of the itch factor, so felting stash it is (and I have tons of it!) After that one is done, I'll be doing a few more in Cascade 220 and bits of Lambs Pride. I think this is a really cool project to use up bits of leftovers. Technicolor baskets!
Its knitting up very nicely, although I hate working with the NZ wool. I'm sure I'll enjoy the next run much better. I should (hopefully) have this one done tonight and get it right in the washer for felting.
In other news...we got the closing papers for the house. Unfortunately, there are some errors. I spent most of the day on Friday on the phone with our mortgage company trying to find out what to do and how to do it. At least they came up with a solution..I just hope we can fix it before closing on the 28th! I'm thinking positive, so I'm sure it will all work out.
I was hoping to post pictures tonight of our, get this, new, 150 year old upright piano (which is just STUNNING, and will look perfect in our 150 year old farmhouse next to my antique treadle sewing machines!) BUT...we were not able to pick it up today. Virgil (brother in law) was going to help Richard move it, however Virgil had an accident on the quad yesterday and has a nice sized hole in his thigh. Jill and Virgil did come up today to visit though, so at least we still got to spend time with them. Poor Virgil is in so much pain, but being a real tough guy. We now have plans to get the piano next weekend barring any more catastrophes. The best part about this piano, other than being totally beautiful, is that its FREE! If your not familar with Freecycling, check out the Freecycle site and see if there is a group in your area! I love freecycling and have been the giver and reciever of many awesome items!
