Saturday post on Sunday
May 29th, 2005I never got around to blogging yesterday since we took off early to Ithaca for the farmers market. Everyone who raved about this market to me, thank you! We had a great time. Not much is in season right now but we did bring home some spinach (for one of my fave recipes that Richard makes for me, wilted spinach with portabellos and parmesan) And an awesome loaf of herb bread.
I resisted buying any delish wool yarn at the market, though I did pet some. I would have loved to talk to the wool ladies but it was rather crowded and I was more concerned about Dylan wandering off (of which he is prone to do)
We did get some yummy burritos there for a snack. Nothing compares to that awesome veggie burrito I had in the parking lot of the Tampa Dead show in '95. I tell you..that was the BEST damn burrito I've ever had! But it was good nonetheless.
After the market we did some more shopping in Ithaca, then dinner at a Chinese buffet. Most people that know me, know I like Chinese food for the most part, but since the rest of my family could literally live off it, we tend to eat a bit too much of it....hence I get really sick of it. And I'm picky as well. But this wasnt bad at all. In fact I really enjoyed it. It was probably the best hot and sour soup I've had in years.
Back home, the boys played The Hobbit on the computer and I got to sit and knit. I posted on Friday about the LTK apron top on the needles. Well...I was halfway through and didnt like the way the bottom curled up (as stockinette tends to do) And I remembered that the one I made for Cassidy last year, did the same thing. So I pulled it out and started over with my new obsession...the picot hem. This time I casted on provisionally, knit 4 rows stockinette, picot row, knit another 4 rows stockinette, then knit the live stitches in. Perfection
Now I'm trucking along and its going to be a beauty!
Today we are off to Paula and Cliff's for a Memorial Day picnic. Hopefully the showers will stay away!
Around a year ago on this day..
