ickies resurection

June 1st, 2005

Now Dylan has it. Ugh. Or maybe its something new since suddenly Connor's nose is running like a faucet. Who knows! In any case, we're going to see the pediatrician tomorrow anyway (for regularly scheduled check ups) Maybe the doc will know whats going around now.

Knitworthy content...

I've been working on the honeymoon cami and I was trucking along until I got to the bust increases. The directions for making right and left raised increases is different from others I've used but I went with the pattern instructions and maaaaan did they look funky. Problem is I didnt really notice how funky they looked until I was a good 5 rows above them. So rip rip rip back to below the first row of increases. King Tut cotton is not fun to rip because of its splitty factor. Anyway...it took me well over an hour to rip back properly without losing any stitches and I'm on the road again towards the bust increases.

I also spent a good half hour or so working on a soaker for Connor that I've been twiddling with for the last week. Its in the new Henry's Attic Licorice Twist yarn. This yarn is so cool :) its three ply, and one strand picks up the dye more than the other two so you have this awesome dark swirl on the strand. I whole color dyed it in a pot with the last remaining Dylon packet in Bahama Blue that I had (I bought a bunch of this on clearance at Hancock Fabrics back in Madison)

I have to say...I love it. I love how soft it is. I love how it dyed. I love how its knitting up...and well..I just love it!

Last knitworthy detail. Sockapalooza was so much fun (and such a success) that Alison is doing a round two! See the Socka-pal2-za button to the right? Click on it to keep up with this round!

Couldn’t resist sending out a shout-out to another knitting Carla - I don’t find many of them! Are you also in MA?
Love your blog, and I hope your family feels better soon!
    Take care,
    Carla
