While I was "away", I worked a little on my sock pal's socks. They have morphed several times from one pattern to another. A test run with a pattern from Knitting On The Road (and I didn't like the results) I started Nancy Bush's rib and cable socks from IK Fall 2005 and the double strand cast on makes them look funky.  I'm several inches into retro rib socks from IK Winter 2004 with Kroy Socks yarn and it just feels like my gauge is too big (and alas, they then LOOK big to me)

So I'm at a point where I don't know what to do. I'm definitely frustrated over it, and sick of socks right now. Maybe I need a week long break? Yes, this is the perfect excuse to spend all of my mommy down time reading HP6 instead!

The christening dress from hell update... I started with a Patons pattern booklet after I saw on someone else's blog a completed dress from the same pattern. I was in love I tell you. That is until I got through the first repeat of the lace edge. I was sure I messed up and confided in my fiber goddess grandmother about it. She chuckled and said "Make it the back of the dress!" Yes. THAT was going to be my plan. That is until I was in the second repeat and made the same "mistake". I counted, frogged, re-knit. Counted, frogged, re-knit. The conclusion I came to? Its the pattern, NOT me.  So since I've been tossing this dress idea in my head for months now I decided to just go with it, and I'm doing Olivia a christening dress all of my own design!

Honeymooncami And I'm finally getting around to loading a picture I took of Tracy wearing her birthday honeymoon cami...

Again, its King Tut mercerized cotton in pistachio green. Knit on 24" US6 Addi Turbos.

I'd have cropped it but photoshop seems to be missing from my desktop right now :(

Around a year ago on this day..
