I really suck.
August 27th, 2005Because I made a large purchase today at Walmart. Yes, me, the anti Stuff-Mart chick.
But, but, in my defense...Wal-Mart is the only place that carries this particular vacuum. I really would have loved to afford a Dyson, but as usual, I have caviar taste, and a tuna budget (and I'm not talking albacore either!)
Honestly though, in all my searches for reviews, Dyson didn't get really high marks, especially when you factor in its price tag. With that said, I know plenty of folks with Dyson vacs who love em' and wouldn't part with them. And the reviews for this Hoover Fusion are excellent. And its pretty much a Dyson knock-off.
I knew we were needing a new vac for quite some time. Our Eureka Smart Vac, which was once an awesome dirt machine, wasn't cutting it. Today it was very clear, as I was running the vacuum over what looked like cracker crumbs and it took about 6 passes over them to be sucked up. The real test? As soon as I got home, assembled, and plugged it in, I did a quick run through the living room and dining room....I had to empty the canister twice. Can you say YUCK? And I have a baby crawling on this floor! Egads!
Anyway...I have clean floors now!

Hey, vacuum cleaners are very usefull. I mean, don’t feel bad about spending the change on it, because well — I use the damn thing at least twice a week and we have mostly hardwood floors. I can’t imagine how much I would use it if it was all carpeted.
I have taken apart the machine and put it together so many times. It’s my nemisis and yet I depend on it.
Speaking of which I need to buy new bags. You can only dig out the dirt so many times on one bag.
