Yeah, more politics…
August 11th, 2005I swear, I must be experiencing anti-war stress disorder. There are a lot of things weighing heavily on my mind (and heart) this past week.
Front and center is Cindy Sheehan. My heart breaks for her. And the right wing noise machine and their attempts at swift-boating her just, well, lets be frank...piss me off.
And this link, There's Something in the Air / But It's Not on the Airwaves. Watch the 8 minute movie. It literally had me sobbing. I sat here, just wondering if how I felt right now, was how my mom felt during the Vietnam war. I'll have to give her a call today and ask.
Anyway...it made me think of Bob Dylan's Masters Of War. Especially this part....
You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do
/hopefully more later, that I can post in a category outside of politics.
