I'm happy to report that as of lunchtime, sock number two is moving along!
I had turned the heel, picked up the gussets and am now decreasing them.
Since sock #1 only took me a day to complete the foot..I'm going to say I'll have this done, barring any major catastrophe, in time for a September 15th postmark (even if I'm running into the post office on the 15th AS it closes!)
And when I got uber bored with the sock's pattern last night, I took a half hour out while watching  The Daily Show to finish the hems on the Georgia O'Keeffe themed shorts. Yay, another WIP that can be moved my from my knitting basket!
