And now for something knitty

October 29th, 2005

Knitworthy news. I finished my first Branching Out scarf. It came out a teensy bit small though. Admitedly the yarn used (Knitpicks.com's Andean Silk) has a much larger gauge, and I didn't go up a needle size. So its short enough to be a fashion statement, but not long enough to wrap around and keep warm. Oh well. I had three balls of that yarn, but I cannot for the life of me find that third and last ball. So its only 2 balls long.
Upon completing it, I casted on the second one with the Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool. Its a tad harder to knit IMO since the yarn is so thin. I've heard raves about this yarn being silky soft, but it just doesnt feel soft to me. Maybe after washing and blocking it will.
I'm hoping to make one last fruit cap for Olyvia before we head down to Mom's on Monday afternoon. I may cast one one this morning to take to Ithaca today (just long enough of a drive to get in some knitty time.)

I PROMISE pictures today. I swear!
