Keepin’ Busy
October 14th, 2005So last night was mahj night. I so look forward to that one night a month, getting together with Nan, Paula, Janet and Sue. Awesome treats, wine, cheese, good conversation and of course, several rounds of mahjong (a game I never thought I'd learn, much less LOVE to play!) Last night, a new addition to winter mahjong, playing in front of a roaring fire! And, I came home from mahj night with fiber! Paula, also a knitter, had some yarn that she said she would never get around to using, so she passed it on to me. Some LOVELY stuff! Sock yarns, some Icelandic lopi, rayon tape that will make a lovely scarf. Its all now safely tucked into my stash and feeling quite at home.
Despite my minor wine headache this morning (really, I did NOT drink that much last night!) I have so much to do! We're heading to East Lake (in Pennsylvania) this weekend for some camping. I know, camping in October...we're nuts right? Well, truth be told, it won't be "real camping". We're sharing a really nice 4 bedroom cabin with Jil, Virgil and their kids. It has heat, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a really nice deck with a hot tub! Saturday night the kids will dress in their costumes, and we'll trick or treat around the campground, and then go to a party at the recreation hall. I'm sure the kids will have a blast. Of course its going to rain all weekend, but we'll survive! We'll have a dvd player for the kids, and many games and puzzles. And of course I'm bringing some knitting to do.
I was to go see Yarn Harlot on Monday night, but it appears, per her blog, that shes had a death in the family (how sad) I wouldn't expect that she'll still make it.
Anyway...keepin busy!
