Patriotism

October 26th, 2005

Seems my patriotism is somewhat questionable in some circles. You know..dissent aids and abeds the insurgents in Iraq. With basic electricity and running water being a real luxury in Iraq, I'm sure there is Internet access to Carla's blog all across the country in every household!

Thomas Jefferson:

"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism"

So, to be a good American, I should shut up about the war. The incompetent silver spoon sucking moron in the White House gets a pass? All to be a good American?
Yeah, screw that.

See, in a perfect world. Lots of atrocities would not have been committed. In a perfect world, Bush version 1 would have completed the job in Iraq in the first place. In a perfect world Clinton wouldn't have let Osama get away. In a perfect world, this administration would have been truthful.
First Iraq was responsible for 9/11 (scratch that...that was Bin Laden) Then it was WMD (whoa, scratch that, no WMD to be found) Only THEN it was "spreading democracy". That is not enough of a big red flashing "I'M LYING MY ASS OFF" sign though, is it?

Thomas Jefferson (again):

"He who permits himself to
tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third
time till at length it becomes habitual."

Things are getting worse in the Darfur region. Korea is still dysfunctional with nuclear ambition. Iran will always be a "problem" in the same way. A war with Syria is just around the corner.  None of those could be handled if necessary.

When George W. Bush's "base" is so jacked up on morals, its just mind blowing to know that MY dissent is somehow bad, and this government's lies-designed-to-murder-thousands, are A-OK.

I'm closing comments on this particular entry because I should not have to defend my patriotism.

Around a year ago on this day..
