Priceless
October 23rd, 2005One trip to the emergency room: 15.00 co-pay
Antibiotic and pain medication RX: 10.00 co-pay
Six 64oz bottles 100% Cranberry Juice: 15.00 with my P&C Foods club card
Being able to actually sleep, sit, relax, pain-free: PRICELESS.
I'm tellin' ya, it is grand to be able to sit here and blog, for the first time in 5 days, pain free. You know you've seen a good doc when he gives you pain medication for a urinary tract infection. In the past I've seen some that say take the antibiotic and "you'll feel better in 24-48 hours" but they totally discount how much agony you've been in, and will continue to be in until the abx start doing their job!
Anyway...I'm on the mend now. Slighly loopy from pain meds, but hey..the pain is gone!
And thank you Lu, Nellie and Alexandra...for understanding about the party moms in my previous entry. Normally, I don't let women like that bug me. And I certainly don't think moms of only children or working moms "do less" (in fact some working moms probably do more, as they have to balance both career and family). It was all in the way they said it. It was just rude. It gets really frustrating to be judged by people that don't know you, about the size of your family, or your choice to stay home and be "just a mom". So again, thanks!
Knitting: Still slacking on the Clapotis pics. But I haven't felt up to modeling for one either. I will stick to my promise. Since I'm feeling better, and am actually having a good hair day, maybe I'll have Richard snap a pic this afternoon.
I finished the Ann Norling strawberry cap for Olyvia. I used Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton and although its cute, wool is much more forgiving with the intarsia "dots". For as much as I tried to soooo loosely strand them, they seem a little tight. Oh well. I cast another one on this morning to knit while waiting in the ER. This one, a pumpkin. By tonight/tomorrow I should be able to cast on a raspberry or maybe a blueberry (My goal here is to make her a whole set of them to wear with any outfit)
I picked up the Branching Out scarf again, but its not mindless knitting (the caps are) So I'm doing a few pattern repeats a few times a day in between the caps.
Around a year ago on this day..

Ooooh icky! Glad you’re on the mend. I have thankfully never had one of that bad..mine stick to the bladder and respond well to the apple cider vinegar (blech).
I love those fruit caps…can’t make em for mine, Hubby classifies fruit caps on boys in the “dressing them like clowns” file and frowns on it..LOL! Fuddyduddy.
