While I’m a bit pissy about it…

October 22nd, 2005

I had to take Cassidy to a birthday party today. Lovely party. Great little girl, who happens to have incredible parents. That wasnt the thing though.
Most parents left upon dropping off their kid. I didn't. Instead I took some knitting with me and sat on the sidelines (just in case the mom of the birthday girl needed a hand)
Well, two other moms stayed too. About halfway through the party, one of the moms, in a half asking, half assumed way said "Cassidy is your only child?" When I said, no, she was the oldest of four, the other mom's head snapped to look at me and said "and shes what 6, 7? You have FOUR kids under the age of 7 ?!?!"  then.. "wow, I can't imagine ever wanting four kids". The two of them went on to talk between themselves about how awesome having an only child is, and how content and happy their children are.  Ok..whatever.
The other thing. One of them said to me "so where do you work?" When I said I was a stay at home mom, she paused for a minute then half smiled and said "well thats a job!"
No shit Sherlock.

Maybe its just because I don't feel good, and my senses are a bit off. But these two women really left a horrible first impression on me.

/rant over :)

rant on, Dear One. As I have told people about Cass and her children (really w/out saying it is none of your business)”It is none of my business, I don’t feed them or clothe them unless I want to do so.”

Pfffft. Sounds like a nice afternoon. Move over to Germany where it is normal (or better: expected) that you stay at home even if you’re mother of ‘only’ one child. Which isn’t funny either.

ROFL! I bought a mini-van, and it overflows! Now what??

Carla, don’t let ‘em get to you. You made your choices, they made theirs. You have the way better end of the stick. But you know that :)
