Can you believe this?
November 6th, 2005We are under a TORNADO WATCH
I swear, its true. Is this the apocolypse? Tornados in upstate NY in NOVEMBER?
We walked out of Wal-Mart and the sky was oh so familiar! I actually smiled, looked at Richard and said "IT LOOKS LIKE HOME!"
We packed the kids in the car quickly amidst blowing winds, carts running amok in the parking lot and headed home as it started to rain. About a mile from home a down power line and DRENCHING rain.
The worst seems to have passed now (wow, that was a zinger of a thunderstorm!) and luckily we still have power. But we're still under a tornado watch for another 45 minutes or so.
I thought we said goodbye to tornadoes when we left Wisconsin. Apparently not! So although I think we're safe (goodness I hope so, I do not look forward to herding the kids into our uber creepy 160 year old stone and dirt basement!) I'll be nervous all night though. Despite the expiring tornado warning, we have a wind advisory all night (50-60 mph gusts)

Yep the sky was pretty scary here…it was completely black beyond a certain point and then in stark contrast a much lighter grey. Then we got major hail and rain and wind. But it only lasted 15 minutes. I was worried our little portable sheep shelter would blow around and decapitate some sheep but luckily that didn’t happen. We did have a few trees go down in the area on the main roads.
