Early morning knitting

November 8th, 2005

I couldnt sleep this morning, so I got up thinking I could have some coffee, and quietly knit. But alas, Dylan was up right behind me (he is such a morning person..ugh!) So I'll still sip coffee, and knit until its time to rouse Cassidy and Alex for the pre-school-blitz, while watching Noggin with Dylan :)

I put the black silky wool Branching Out scarf on hold. Why? Because when I was cleaning out my yarn on Sunday, I found that third and last skein of Knitpicks Andean Silk in olive (first branching out scarf) So I picked out my woven in end on the scarf, ripped back the final five rows of garter stitch and attatched the last skein, picking up the lace pattern again. This scarf will be longer (and prettier IMO) afterall!
And yesterday when I took Alex for his hair cut, I brought along size 10.5 needles and a skein of Colinette Giotto in the "Tapis" Colorway . I started the basic drop stitch scarf with this and I'll gift it to someone. Its my first time working with a tape yarn and its to say the least, an interesting experience! This is yarn I would have never even looked at in the yarn store. Despite the awesome colors, I'm just not drawn to tape yarns. It was gifted to me by my dear friend Paula however, in the bag of yarn she said she would never get around to using. I have to say, THANK YOU Paula because 1) do you remember how expensive this yarn was? WOW, I can't believe you gave it away! and 2) Despite how weird it is knitting tape yarn, I'm actually enjoying it!
I'm sure I'll have more to say later, but I'm only on my first cup of coffee. Might as well blog while I'm waking up ;)
