I had a rant post  halfway typed up, drafted it because of time restraints trying to finish it, and here it is 3 days later. I no longer feel like posting that rant. Nothing political, just a little soapboxing about the supreme stupidity of some store clerks in the Cortland area. It made for an awful day. But I'm over it, and I just won't shop there anymore.
But, in that post was also some crushing news (to me anyway) My favorite little store on Main Street, had a fire. I had heard about a fire on the radio, and the name of another store, but my fave store, Smooch was not mentioned. Silly me, I should have known it would be affected. Same building, right next door. I had wanted to stop in and get a little giftie for my secret pal, but no can do I really hope Smooch finds a way to re open. In fact I think I'll send the owner a card. I love her store that much.

So today is my birthday. Thirty seventh to be exact (eek! where did the time go?) Nothing special planned today except for my awesome husband making me an incredible dinner tonight, something with beef tenderloin and lobster ...yummmmm!
I plan on knitting a lot, and I think I'll take a nap this afternoon (this time change thing has really knocked me out this year!) I worked my butt off for the past few days, cleaning out drawers, closets, rearranging rooms, etc so that I could fully enjoy taking today "off" (because well, I can't relax if I know there are things that need doing)
Other big news? Richard's parents are arriving on the 11th from Wisconsin for a visit! We havent told the kids yet, and I'm pretty sure we'll keep it a secret. They will be very surprised when Daddy comes back from the train station with Nana and PaPa! So our "birthday tradition" continues! My birthday, the 4th, NaNa's birthday the 6th, Richard's birthday, the 14th, so we always found a way to have a family get together, and big dinner in between the three for a big celebration. As we can see...900 miles can't stop that!
