still no scarf pictures, and “when germs attack”
November 13th, 2005Well, I had hoped that Cassidy would be the only person to suffer the germies. It wasn't meant to be I suppose. No sooner than I pulled in the driveway from a massive purchase at the market (fixins for spanokopita and lasagna for 20 people) Connor was awake from his nap, and suffering the same ills as Cassidy had on Thursday night (and Friday...and Saturday morning)
Ok..I can deal with one more sick child. I've got it all under control!
That is until Alex started. Then Dylan. It was like they had a vomit chorus going on. I tell ya, its exhausting, and just so mentally draining on a parent when you know your child just feels horrible and nothing you do seems to help.
So it continued all night. And midway through said night, Nana started to feel icky too. Needless to say, I was on the phone at 6:30 this morning, letting my mom know that our family dinner plans needed to be cancelled. Made my other cancellation phone calls, made toast for recovering kids, did up dinner dishes from previous night and now I'm settling down to knit a bit while praying that the germs didn't infect me as well.
The good news however, is that the boys seem to have bounced back quickly. And although Cassidy occasionally says her tummy hurts, shes kept all meals down. Nana is starting to feel better and is currently napping, catching up on last nights lost sleep. Speaking of, I should pencil in a nap myself.
So between cuddling sick kids, and loads of laundry, I haven't snapped a picture of the finished drop stitch scarf. Its been moved way to the bottom the priority list.

I feel for ya, moms are powerless to help and they feel so miserable. I always end up sick too and generally sicker than everyone else! Hope you escape! Just bear in mind, that as the kids get older it gets better as their immunities get stronger.
