Finished Objects
December 27th, 2005I forgot to mention hand knit gifts! I'm pretty sure all of my hand knit gifts were adored. My aunt nearly cried over the mini clap scarf. And both the big footed and the small footed sisters swooned over the socks. By the end of the day they were comparing their socks and put in an "order" for new socks (the big footed sister even reminding me that her birthday was only a short month away!). Apparently big footed sister really likes the small footed sister's twisted cable socks, so perhaps I'll get started on another pair of the twisted cable socks for her birthday in February. Hey, its an excuse to go buy some more Fixation...my stash is getting low!
Sister in law, I think, liked the branching out scarf, and Gram, LOVED the picnic table runner (which in my rush of finishing up wrapping, forgot to snap a picture of the quilted, bound, finished quilt.)
So I have to say, my hard work paid off and I'm a happy knitter. Now next year, I promise I'll start earlier!
I have updated the finished objects photo album, minus the quilt though. Maybe I'll take a picture next time I go down to visit (today!)
But...its time to knit a bit for my kiddos! Each got a new coat for Christmas from Uncle Dennis and Aunt Nichole. The fleece hat in Alex's stocking perfectly matches his old and new coat. But Dylan and Connor will need new matches...and I have the proper colors in my stash! Nuthin' fancy, just some basic caps to keep their noggin's warm ![]()
On a non knitty note, we're headed to PA today to look at a place of habitation. I'm not optimistic, but we'll see. And, while Richard napped last night on the couch, I cruised around online and happened along a job listing which sounds like P E R F E C T I O N. I think he finished up his cover letter in the wee hours of last night and hopefully has it sent already.
Around a year ago on this day..
