Whew!

December 15th, 2005

Ok, it aint done...yet.
But I managed to get most of the foot done yesterday. All that is left is 2 pattern repeats and the toe decreases. I estimate about an hour and a half of knitting, MAX. Had I not made my kick-ass hot & sour soup, or the spicy shortbreads, in other words, spent so much time in the kitchen, I may have finished them. But damn...if you could only taste my soup and shortbreads! Richard, who isn't really fond of hot and sour soup, had TWO bowls!
And we're expecting this monster storm tonight. Really, I need to watch local news more. Cassidy kept saying her teacher said "no school on Friday". Now I know there is school scheduled on Friday, but I finally figured out what she was saying! There "likely won't be school on Friday". So I turned on the weather channel last night and sure enough, huge ice storm reaching from Virginia all the way up into New England. But thats not all folks...a nice big snow (6-12") will follow it. GoodNESS!
I'm just a little freaked out about the power going out (will an old boiler heating system still work with no electricity? This is something I should know, right?)

UPDATE: Sock two was done well before lunch! I immediately picked up the Silky Wool Branching Out scarf, and got another 5 repeats done while watching tv with the boys...only 7 more to go!

Around a year ago on this day..

    Good Progress!!!
Food sounds delicious. Of course, if it is food, I almost always like it.

Ok Carla, I think you should come over now. It’s snowing a lot and the roads are terrible. hehe. Yeah we may have a snow day too, the kids are hoping anyway. Mike’s basketball practice was just cancelled.
