Moving Along

February 1st, 2006

Jaywalkers2_2Shock...I actually got right in, and out of my medical visit. Get this, while waiting for the doctor to write my RX, I was able to knit ONE row....thats it. Actually I think I came about 4 stitches short of actually finishing the row! But during the afternoon, and evening I was able to finish up the ankle repeats, heel flap, turn, and started my gusset decreases. Bad picture I know, but its the best I can do at 5:30AM with a wonky camera tethered to the PC.
I started thinking about the next pair of socks, and thought I'd dive into one of Nancy Bush's vintage patterns. But then I remembered that the Sockapaloooza pair ups will be sent out today. So by day's end I should know who my pal is, and can begin the fun investigation, trying to learn more about my pal, pick out yarn and pattern, and get my knit on :)
In other sock knitting news, big footed sister, also known as Jill, will celebrate her birthday tonight at Mom's house with a spaghetti dinner, and a new pair of Opal Petticoat Jaywalker socks.

And for something a little political. Rather, some political scandal. I.did.not.watch.the.state.of.the.union.address.
Shocked are we?
Honestly, I just couldn't bring myself to do it this year. He never says anything new, much less realistic, truthful, and honest. So whats the point? And the fact that people stand up and applaud him...hurl...the man deserves handcuffs and a jail cell, not a standing ovation. But anyway, I opted to knit while dreaming of the day when I can take pride in our country's leadership again.

Around a year ago on this day..

Yeah I boycotted the State of the Union for the same reasons. I watched last week’s Smallville instead. I like fiction I can actually enjoy, not fiction that pretends to be facts.
