a meme!

March 23rd, 2006

And..its my first! Because much like its tagger, JenLa, I think memes are a little silly. But on a day like today, when I really don't have much to blog about, it makes nice filler! And it will give my random blog surfing this morning, at least a little bit of purpose, as this particular meme, is a wild goose chase!
Rules:
-Your finds must come from knit blogs.
-You may not use a blog for more than one item-all items must come from different sources.
-Finds can come from current entries or archives.
-You must post your answers with the title of the blogs they were found
on and a link to the blog/item (permalinks where appropriate) on your
blog. If no permalink is available, give us the post date.
-Do not steal anyone’s bandwidth-which means you should not hotlink pictures.
-You need to comment (on JenLa's site ) when you have completed this meme.

1.  A blog which you think people have not discovered.
Oh this one is a tough one. There are several that I don't often see on other blogrolls that I make a point of visiting if not every day, at least as often as I can. First up would be Yarn Tootin' (Courtney). And definitely Maglia! (Lu) as well.

2.  A blog whose author lives close to you physically.  Just get as close as you can, it’s all relative.
Oh geez..I'm new in town and have absolutely no idea. How about I direct you to the Upstate New York Knitters blogring instead?

3.  An unusual or weird animal picture.
Ok, not sure if this is correct as its not actually posted ON a knitting blog, but I got this link, a six legged lamb  FROM a knitting blog ( Surprise Lamb - Loren at Windyridge Farm) (so TECHNICALLY I'm not double using Loren's blog, per the rules, since the picture is not POSTED on her blog! :)

4.  An entry that made you laugh and got you strange looks from family or co-workers.
Easy. Stephanie's post about the knitting olympics comment she got from the bank teller.

5.  An idea you wish you’d thought of.

The ABC-Along. I'm really enjoying watching it on other blogs, but because of the wonky camera from hell, I'm not participating.

6.  Something you’d like to knit.
Oh, this screams "twirlgirl" at me, every time I see it...Koigu's Fantasia. But y'all know..I'll never ever knit it. Thats a huge commitment not only in yarn dollars, but time (neither of which do I have much to spare!) I cannot find a single blog that contains a started or finished Koigu Fantasia though! So, I'll jump on the bandwagon and say Eris.

7.  A picture of something you consider beautiful

Another easy one...all of my children.

8.  A blog whose author you’d like to one day meet in person
Again, I can't give just one reply. Definitely Cass. And most definitely, when we head out to Wisconsin to visit Richard's folks, I'll be looking to get together with Vicki

9.  A blog of someone you have already met in person.

My sheep farming and spinning inspiration, Loren

Around a year ago on this day..

    Hi!

This is totally and completely unrelated to your post, but i didn’t want to just reply to the most recent entry since it’s about a secret pal and didn’t want to distract from your nice post :) anyway… you commented on TCEKU just over 2 weeks ago and it’s *high time* I replied.

Thank you for your compliments! I’m glad you like the earrings - I’m quite enjoying making them. I also can’t wait to get back into actual silversmithing with saws and files and torches and solder…..

To answer your question, YES most of the stuff I post is for sale—especially the jewelry/metal-work type things. In fact, two of TCEKU are going to be in a art/craft fair in WI next weekend…. if you’re still interested in earrings, drop me a line on tceku.net ……things are finally settling down at work and at home and I shall be much be quicker to reply :)
