moving day

March 11th, 2006

Well, I'd like to be more ready this morning, but I'm not.  I didn't get as much completely packed as I had hoped, for a few reasons, which I mentioned yesterday for the most part. Between fighting kids, and crying reflux baby, and only being able to pack just so much with a baby in a sling....Oh, and I ran out of boxes too (just short a few...man kitchen stuff takes a lot of boxes!)
We will however, be sleeping in Syracuse tonight! The kids are excited about the move, even though they haven't been the least bit helpful at all (even in picking up and packing the very few toys that remain unpacked)  I expect everything to load up quickly since we have help on this end of the move. But unpacking the truck will likely take most of the afternoon and evening since its just Richard and I on the other end (in between tripping over children)
And of course we can't just "settle in" once there. The stove still needs to be hooked up by someone who knows what they're doing (the stove is set up for propane, not city gas) And I still need to call a repairman for my beloved GE Prodigy washer. Oh and the electrician installed the dryer outlet, but Richard says the plug doesnt fit. I know the electrician mentioned something to me about a "swing switch" or something where it could convert to both 3 and 4 prong dryers...will have to give him a call.
The good news about this move however is that the broadband internet is already functional...so no downtime. And I'm already expecting fibery mail at the new address!

On to something knitty...Ashley, I absolutely agree with you about the blue Natures Palette and Badcaul (it feeds into my cable purity personality) And in what little downtime I had yesterday, I cast it on again. This time I switched to dpns once the toe was done and it makes the knitting a tad easier without all that stop and start readjusting for magic loop (and repeatedly un-snagging, stitches on the horrible joins of Inox Express needles)

Around a year ago on this day..
