I’m melting

July 17th, 2006

Can you say hot? Ok, lets be fair here...its not just hot, its freaking hot.  But anyway.. Jill, the kids, Jay, Danny and Missie came up for the weekend. Yes that would be four extra adults, and 2 additional children in our home (Did I mention hot? And we don't have AC?)

But, fun was had by all, despite the heat (although, it does cool down nicely once the sun goes down) On the agenda, was a trip to the zoo. And because it was so hot, we decided to follow up the zoo trip, with some shopping at Carousel Center (a large mall, with a ca. 1909 carousel. No trip there is complete without a ride on the carousel!)
It was a great weekend, and I'm so glad they decided to come up and visit us. Can't wait to have them up again!
So pardon me, while I go off to melt in front of a fan. Visit the photo album to see a few more pictures from our day out on Saturday.

Around a year ago on this day..

Glad to hear you’re making the most of it. I think this heat will calm down soon. We’ve been meaning to go to the zoo for a while. I hear it’s nice. I’m always happy to see how the kids line up for a ride on that caurosel. I’m glad to see those things still hold their charm.

I haven’t left my AC in days! Find a lake, a pool, a bathtub but stay cool. Hope Dylan’s poison ivy rash is improving. There’s nothing worse when it’s hot.
