See, I have been knitting

Absorba The GreatPardon the fuzzy picture. No matter what I did I couldn't get a better shot.

I present, Absorba The Great from Mason Dixon Knitting. The pattern calls for three cones of Peaches n Cream cotton (or is it Sugar n Cream?), but I was intent on doing this from stash yarn. Not to mention, I hate those dish cloth cottons.. I liken thier feel to scraping one's fingernails on chalkboard. So, since I have mass amounts of Bernat Cotton Tots in my stash, I decided to use some up. Incidentally, this will match the kid's bathroom.

Its been a relatively easy knit if you don't mind the workout your wrists get from working with large needles (US15). Compounding this, my only set of US15s, are Crystal Palace Daisy needles, and quite short. I'm almost finished with the band I'm currently on. One more down the left side. Break yarn, then one more on the opposite side to make it rectangular. Voila, a mama made, soft and cushy bathmat for the kid's bathroom.

I've been neglecting all sorts of projects lately, you know, the ones that require following charts and such. I needed something completely mindless, and this fit the bill. I will get back to more difficult projects. Actually I need to get back to my more difficult projects. Christmas knitting deadlines will be creeping up on me before I know it.

Around a year ago on this day..
