Oh Snap!

Do you see the problem here? Yep, out of yarn! To be fair, Jenna states in the pattern that you should buy a second ball to be safe. However at 12 bucks a ball, and the fact that I would only need maybe 10 yards out of the second ball at most, I decided not to. Hindsight.. I should have. But then I buy a second ball and I have all that leftover 12-dollar-per-ball yarn. At that point, it would make more sense to buy two more, so I'd have enough to make another Shedir. Of course, I'd still have a lot leftover. So, do I buy three?
Ugh. I hate having leftovers.. especially a lot of leftover expensive yarn. My Llamie is worth it of course.. but my checkbook can't handle several more balls of Calmer. I'll buy another ball of the coffee bean Calmer this weekend to finish this particular Shedir. And with the black one, I'll probably go down a half or whole needle size since apparently I'm knitting a bit loosely. If I end up with the same dilemma.. another ball of black Calmer I guess!
With that said, two packages of donated Fixation arrived on my doorstep yesterday. Thank you Amanda, and blogless Cindy!
I'll add some randomness: Bush is in my hometown today, stumping for Don Sherwood (republican mistress beating philanderer). The fact that Bush will be blocks away from my childhood home-my mother's home, makes me want to throw up a little. Oh, and because of the visit, they've shut down Keystone College for the day. No classes for students, OR the preschool children who attend day care there (my nephew) Bleh!
The Scranton Times talks about a "plethora of protestors". Good!

Don’t buy a whole new skein–I have a partial skein of Coffee Bean that I’ll send you with the others!
I’ve knit a bunch of Shedirs, and I’ve found that I acually only needed three of the four pretzel cable repeats (or 4 out of 5–I forget the specifics right now, but whatever it is)–they came out too big otherwise. Now, I may have a teeny pinhead. But you might want to see what you think about the fit, because if you drop out that last repeat you’ll save a bunch of yarn!

[...] Look at all those cabley valleys! I finally finished the purple Calmer Shedir! And thanks to Ashley, who sent a ziplock full of Calmer, complete with enough brown to finish what I started.. I can work on another tonight! (Thank you, SO MUCH Ashley!) It will definitely fit Kris.. as its a bit too big for me. Its huggy and warm and I feel good making them! [...]
