A rough start

November 21st, 2006

My Tuesday so far, to put it mildly, has been rough. I woke up with the beginnings of a headache and a slightly sour tummy. Here it is lunchtime, and the headache is raging, and the tummy feels like its stuck in the spin cycle. I've eaten some toast, medicated myself with some excedrin, made a cup of tea, doused my forehead with Head-On.. and no change. To complicate this, I made the mistake of turning my back on Connor in the kitchen during one of his earth shattering tantrums (which have been increasing in frequency) where he then took that opportunity to grab the nearest blunt object (a swiffer mop) and bean me over the top of the head with it.

Ouch. And I have a lump to show for it.

The offender has paid his dues to society with 3 minutes in timeout. After crying for a good 15 minutes straight (him, not me), I did get a hug (his way of saying he's sorry).

Naptime cannot come soon enough. Maybe I can convince Dylan to nap today too, so that I can perhaps catch a few winks myself.

ETA:

Headache has mellowed.

Children now home for Thanksgiving break - noise level and general state of chaos increased - I expect said headache to make a reappearance before bedtime.

Tried to call Krissy (actually have been trying to call for a week) No luck again tonight. I finally got the nurses station on the phone, where they told me shes sound asleep. I'm mising her pretty badly, especially with "The Mini Kris" a.k.a. Owen, having returned home.

Around a year ago on this day..

Minus the swiffer, ditto. They’ll nap today if I have to lay *on* them!

Ouch! Hope the remainder of the day goes better. There must be something in the air because we had a very rough start here too. Good luck with the naps!

Poor Llam! I’m having a bad feeling about Owen’s behavior tonight…

    Hope you feel better soon.
