Pictureless
November 29th, 2006Since I finally found the box with the kid's Leap Pads, all rechargable batteries, including those intended for the camera, have been claimed (need.more.rechargable.batteries - what an incredible invention!) So no pictures today, or at the very least, until later today when the batteries are re-charged. But I have been working on some things. Mostly the "We Call Them Pirates" hat from helloyarn.com because I can't stop admiring Beth's, which can be seen here, here, and here. Adorable, no? In all of my previous attempts at fair isle, despite my best efforts, I've ended up with a puckered mess. But this time, after reading Eunny's notes on fair isle, I mustered up the bravery to give it another go. And so far.. I'm succeeding. Now if you've never been to Eunny's blog.. run, don't walk. Her blog is, simply put, amazing. Her knitting is inventive, beautiful and flawless. Her pictures, stunning. Oh and she cooks and spins too! (We had a discussion at knitting group this past weekend about how it doesn't seem possible that Eunny sleeps at all, or that she can't possibly be human to accomplish what she does.) So, make sure you have allowed yourself some time to surf around her blog and soak it all in. Be prepared for heart palpitations, and perhaps some drooling.
And I neglected on Monday, to mention the creeping crud we've been dealing with. Connor, despite a lingering nasty cough, and nebulizer worthy wheezing, is starting to feel better. His recovery is only measured by the sheer number of toys that lie in his wake as he roams through the house. I, on the other hand, despite the lack of a fever today, continue to have a difficult time keeping up with him. In fact.. its yet another day where I think I'll stay in my PJs (and knit).

I’ve been to Eunnys site to read about steeks. I can’t get anyone to show me how to do this and I am challenged when it comes to transferring some stuff on paper into reality especially when it means cutting your work with a scissors! Hers is the best description I’ve come across tho’ so far. I love the idea of steeks and really want to learn how some day. if anyone hears of a class………..

We’ve had this exact discussion about Eunny at my knitting group. She is really amazing!
