I’m alive.. really.
January 18th, 2007Its just been a tad busy this week. Combine Richard being home + working on contracts at home + Connor's therapy line-up, I haven't had much time to even check my email much less anything else on this machine.
And the squirrel "situation" has increased in interest. See, I noticed this foul smell from the bathroom sink drain. Weird. Not dead rotting carcass sort of foul, but just something foul, I can't explain it. Combine that with how the tub will not drain in a speedy fashion, and the toilet will not completely rid its contents unless you flush a full three times, we've come to the conclusion that the vent pipe must be clogged. Since this vent pipe resides on the roof, directly above the kid's bathroom, where the squirrels have screwed up the insulation and taken up residence, I think its safe to blame them.
Effing squirrels!
All of the do it yourself fixits seem easy enough, IF IT WERE SUMMER TIME! And considering Richard is currently unemployed (Hi Little Man.. how are ya? I know your still reading!) hiring a plumber is out of the question.
So life at this point is all about making sure I take my Lexapro, having something to spin or knit nearby, and a bottle of chilled wine in the fridge in case of emergency.
*there is a fiber related post coming - if I can manage to take some pictures and steal some time on the computer. The Hoe Down Bag is complete - the knitting and felting that is, as I still need to sew the liner and attach the store bought straps. The Weasley for Ryan is chugging along though I did rip back the intarsia on the front and I'll duplicate stitch the R once its done. The Fair Isle Tote has started. I got quite a lot done on it, but had to stop and wait on that yarn order (which hopefully will be here today). Oh, and the beautiful Grafton Fibers batt is done, plied, washed and skeined. S T U N N I N G, especially since its the first time I've created perfectly balanced yarn.

Sounds like a plan to me. There’s all kinds of drama at the moment with Ian and school so I need a bottle of wine broken open at this point…

That Grafton fiber batt is gorgeous… you must be so excited to make a balanced skein. I know it’s harder than it seems. It’s also one of the things the judges at the NYS Fair look for, so perhaps you should save it and enter it. Just think of winning a ribbon on that beauty!
Sorry to hear about your squirrel troubles!
