Randomness
January 12th, 2007The right hand? Better, as I cut back using it, but when I did knit, I paid careful attention to how I turned my wrist. I found a new way to make a stitch, this time, turning my left hand. Of course by the time my right hand feels better, I'm sure the left will be screaming.
Knitting projects: That second slipper I mentioned yesterday is in the works, but I lost my steam, mostly because Cassidy requested a new hat. Stash diving I went, found a mystery ball of fluffy pink/orange stuff, probably acrylic for all I know, pulled out Ann Budd's book of patterns and cast on. A day and a half later, Cassidy has her hat, complete with a (badly) embroidered orange flower. I'd have a picture of it, however she wore it to school.
Ryan's sweater was coming along nicely, that is until I started the intarsia "R". I'm thinking I'll have to rip this back, knit on in only the green and then duplicate stitch the R after the fact. Seems easy enough, and I'm comfortable with the color changing, but I'm not liking how it looks. Not to mention, color knitting flat, sucks... it literally makes my brain hurt. I'm going to have to kick into gear on this. Since its unlikely that we'll be traveling down to PA for Ryan's party, I'll need to have this ready to go in the mail.
Birthday socks, yet another failed project. Mostly because I was hurried, and didn't think ahead to the placement of the rib pattern, especially when dividing for sole and top of the sock. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about.. and thats ok.. The sock will be ripped as well. I found another project for the birthday girl that I'm going to go with. I think she'll enjoy it much more than socks. Besides that, I couldn't stop thinking about it as soon as I saw the pattern (scroll down to the bottom pattern).
Fair Isle Tote, I'm itching to start this, but I had to order some additional Galway to supplement the boatload that Diana gave me. I ordered a few days ago, and still no shipping notification.. ugh. I went with an online shop that had a decent price, and free shipping. But with the free shipping, the shipping window says I'll receive it in 2 weeks. I would have just gone over to Knitting Connection, but I think the last time I was there, I noticed that her selection of colors had dwindled, and I need four more colors to complete the palette. Just tell me to shut up and be patient.
So it would seem that my knitting frenzy has come to a complete halt due to multiple complications. I'll be back on track by the end of the weekend, and maybe I'll have finished spinning that beautiful Grafton Fibers batt!
