More snow days

February 16th, 2007

Today marks the third consecutive snow day for the kids. This just doesn't happen very frequently here - snow happens - days off don't.  I have a feeling that yesterday's cancellation was the -15 wind chill, and today is undoubtedly, the additional 6" of lake effect CRAP (and more coming over the weekend) Ugh!

So, no Rogue pictures yet, and I'm sorry for that. But with children home from school, and every spare moment spent, keeping them busy and attempting to dig out - there just hasn't been time. However we have successfully dug out the worst part - the big stuff from the nor'easter. And I can thank four teen aged boys who were walking around the neighborhood looking for driveways to clear. They asked for ten, I gave them twenty, because it was a big job! At the bottom of our driveway, where the city's snow plows passed, there was shockingly, over 4 feet of snow in some spots. And since we can't get a plow to come up our steep narrow driveway, those boys were a BLESSING! I wonder if they'll stop by again today?

Off to feed children, start the day, and maybe find some spare moments to knit a little bit.

Around a year ago on this day..

Oh.my.goodness…stay warm. I can’t believe the weather this winter! Happy you were able to put your trip off a bit and stay off the roads.

Wow! Glad you had teenage boy help. Too bad it is too cold to enjoy all that snow you have. Hope you can find time to knit.

ooooh - we don’t even have snow in Australia - except a teeny tiny bit very occasionally in just a couple of places - I can’t even imagine all that snow!

The snow is truly amazing. Matt only had two snow-days this past week on Wed. and Thurs. - and he was disappointed that his “fool-proof snow day charm” of wearing his pajamas on inside out (the night before) didn’t work for Friday. It had worked just fine the prior 2 nights. My favorite snow images juxtaposed: piles of untouched drifting snow one day; snow full of trails and winding, crazy kid tracks and snow forts the next.
