Getting back in the groove of things

March 22nd, 2007

Though I seem to be suffering a hint of a relapse (compared to how I felt yesterday), I still feel a million times better than I did, say, on Tuesday morning. So.. back in the saddle I suppose! Enough of my stuffy, sneezy, pain filled whining, and back to my regular blogging habbits.

Left: The baby hats I was talking so much about a few weeks ago. They were delivered to the wee one before the flu got me (I can only hope that enough time passed between my visit and the onset of symptoms!) I had a great time visiting Joe, Janet, big sister Greta, and the new sweet baby James (and I especially loved holding, cuddling and sniffing that sweet baby scalp of his!) I should mention at this point that the cream organic cotton hat at the bottom of the image, is my staple knit baby gift. Its made from the Little Turtle Knits Pilot Cap pattern, so easy to make and the most functional baby gift I've yet to encounter.

Right: Basic rib socks (from Ann Budd's book of patterns) in Idena Crazy (color number 001). This is a thicker than normal sock yarn, hence the quick knit time. These will be gifted to a family member whose birthday is coming up soon. Though I think they came out nicely, I'm not thrilled with the yarn (its now discontinued). Thankfully there were no yarn breaks or knots to deal with, but I'm a little disappointed (as usual) with the patterning.

In other knitting, I finally decided to finish the felted fair isle tote (remember that beast?) I couldn't find store bought handles that I felt would fit the design of the bag, so I went ahead and knit the handles last night while watching tv. They'll be going in the washer at some point today, then sewn to the bag. I also bought some more yarn a few weeks ago to start another fair isle tote, and I may just start it soon. I'm itching for some fair isle!

Around a year ago on this day..

I love that fair isle tote!! I realize that you have already knit the handles, but for the next time M & J trims in Manhatten has a website and they carry lots of purse handles ….
