Pub Knitting
March 5th, 2007I had to take the week off blogging. I didn't have the right things to say following Scarlet's passing, and Richard has been working morning - noon - night on code (something about inventing code that could be compared to inventing electricity or something or other. If not the re-invention of electricity, then the invention of a super cool new energy saving bulb. I promise I'll share with y'all, someday, the wonderful stuff he's been working on)
Anyway, the cure for last week's depression, was a day out. Susan proposed kicking off St. Patrick's Day, by planning some pub knitting at Kitty Hoynes near Armory Square. I forgot to bring my camera, but Diana didn't. Visit her blog to check out the pictures, particularly the one of all of us. I now nominate Diana to take all pictures of me for my blog - Baileys or not, she worked some camera magic as far as my face is concerned! Big thanks to Susan for making the arrangements and reservations. And also to Sheri, Becky, and Diana for coming along. We really missed the rest of the gals (Beth, Mia, Liz, Pam, EVERYONE!)
And yesterday, being the first Sunday of the month, I had spinning guild to attend. Attendance was low yesterday, and probably a little to do with the weather. Fun was had by all though. I got to talk a little bit about seeing The Departed on Friday night (Excellent flick - not my favorite Scorcese film, but wow, very good. How did Leo DiCaprio NOT win an oscar for this picture?)
Because of a lot more talking than spinning, I still have at least 3 oz of Columbia fleece to finish spinning. The way things have been going lately, it will be the April spinning guild meeting before I'm able to finish it up!
Note, the Trekking sock in the pub knitting pictures, orange of course, was started on Thursday night. I just had an urge to start a pair of simple socks (one of the ribbed sock patterns in Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush) The first sock is now done (finished Saturday night) and the second sock is just about to get a heel flap. Pictures may come later today - IF I can steal away the other PC for a while.
