Done Done Done..

May 23rd, 2007

Pattern: Wing Of The Moth by Anne Hanson @ Knitspot.com

Yarn: Brown Sheep Co. Cotton Fine (four skeins Alpine Lilac #690)

Needles: Inox 32" US6

Pattern Changes: Obvious isn't it? I ran  out of yarn and had to eliminate the final chart (Corona Edging). I did incorporate the first few rows of the Corona Edging to create the eyelets and give a somewhat decorative pointy edge.

Overall I'm happy with it, and despite my whining about it taking forever, it was a delightful knit and I'm going to miss it. Anne's pattern is written incredibly well, providing both charts (I love em!) and written directions (some people prefer em!)  I'll definitely make another very soon, while making sure I have some fiber insurance to completely finish it!

So, what lace should I work on next? Hmm? Suggestions? Before I start anything though, I definitely need to enhance the stash. I've been working so hard at not buying any yarn and only using what I have on hand.. but my lace appropriate yarns are running low. Time to shop!

Lovely! Inspiring! I think it is an amazing finish. I think I shall put this one on my list. I know what you mean about Lace Yarn and low on it. I have to buy some myself or just spin the dickens to get some more. COngrats.

The shawl is gorgeous. If you didn’t know the pattern, you’d never know it was missing anything. I think it’s great as is.

As for your next lace project… the guild holiday project roving screams to be spun up lace weight: more yardage, no money spent, very soft love-to-touch-it fiber - what’s not to like?

Gorgeous! I have 6 skeins of cotton fine in rose. Do you think that would be enough?
