More randomness and a meme

May 18th, 2007

Still chugging away on WOTM since I can only seem to fit in anywhere from 2 to 4 rows a night. The fact that I haven't felt well hasn't helped. Yesterday my symptoms were so bad, I had to take three doses of my meds (not typical) and they completely wipe me out. The fact that I was able to get four rows done last night is a sheer miracle.

But anyway, I feel better today.. so first thing this morning, I tried to make a call to my "hair guy" seeing as I'm about a month overdue for my maintenance cut. I nearly dropped the phone in horror when the receptionist told me that Patric isn't at the salon anymore. You have no idea how much this distresses me. Other than my sister, Patric was the only person who could cut my hair "just right".  So I threw caution to the wind and went in to have the gal that usually cuts Cassidy's hair, take a stab at mine. The result? Good.. but not great like Patric's work. I guess I can live with it since I really don't have much of a choice at this point.

For more rambling, Cass tagged me with a meme..

I’m supposed to name five local places that I like to eat. Here are the complete rules:

  •  Link to the name of the person who tagged you. (done, see above)
  •  Include the state and country you’re in. (Syracuse, New York, USA)
  •  List your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location (locally).

This should prove to be difficult since we don't get out to eat much. And my absolute favorite places are back "home" in Madison (whine!) But I'll do my best

1. Kabuki in Skaneateles, NY. I was once an anti-sushi person. Paula, Nan and Janet pushed me to the dark side though and I'm now a sushi convert.

2. Bagozzi's Pizza in Liverpool, NY. Dinner every Wednesday night.. Two garlic pizzas to go! Not great for the arteries, but maaaan is it good.

3. Panera. Yeah its a chain, but I dig their turkey paninis

and ya know...thats all I've got, so I'll cheat a little bit and list my two three favorite places in Madison..

4. Ella's Deli (kugel and rubens and frozen custard oh my!) which is tied with Culvers (oh my dear butter burger how I miss thee!)

5. EssenHaus .. real German food and some of the best potato pancakes in the midwest.

  •  Tag 5 other people (preferably from other countries/states) and let them know they’ve been tagged.

I'm not going to tag anyone specifically, but if anyone cares to pick this up and run with it.. feel free!

Around a year ago on this day..

I would highly recommend AppeThaizing and Antonio’s. AppeThaizing is the best Thai food in town and I’d say that even if I didn’t work there. Antonio’s is like all the good things about the Sopranos - scary men sitting in Lincoln’s in the parking lot and the best ever eggplant parmesan. Give them a try if you want to get the goods on Syracuse dining :)

No pictures of the haircut? :(

Does Richard ever update his blog? (I thought he had one for awhile there, or thought about it….)

Oh my, Carla. You should really visit original Germany. Not only Bavaria, but also the rest of it. ;-)
