must.knit.more.lace

I can't stop. I tried to knit socks a few nights ago, and was so completely bored that I needed to start more lace right away. I first contemplated Anne's Morning Glory Wrap, which I will do eventually, but I wanted to, for the first time, use my own handspun yarn. None of what I have ready to be used, provided the correct yardage though. So I measured the Georgia O'Keefe lace singles I finished a while back and came up with approximately 600 yards. More than I need for another Spring Things shawl, but I think I'll put in a few extra repeats to use up more yarn, and make the shawl bigger. And this time I'll save myself some grief by skipping the nupps and reaching for the beads instead. I cannot tell how tickled I am to finally be knitting my own handspun - and knitting my own lace handspun is the shizzle!

Around a year ago on this day..

Can’t wait to see the beads on it. I am very excited for you. I didn’t think I would ever knit with my own handspun–much less, laceweight. Congrats. The singles look fabulous. I love the color!

Maybe I’ll actually spin something on my wheel someday!

I’m loving lace knitting at the moment too. All other projects bore me to tears.

    Have a great holiday weekend!
