Mercury in Retrograde
June 15th, 2007Harumph!
It was a fine enough Friday. That is until I got out of bed!
A business phone call that seriously degraded the further it continued. Over health insurance of all things. I can sum it up in three words: Bait And Switch. Then a "supervisor" that was a total prick to me after hearing my complaint about a fee I was not told about. Outright lying, insisting on things that just didn't happen. Sigh. I fully plan to file an official complaint with all appropriate parties.
My dryer is squeaking. It still works. But its squeaking. I can hear it all the way into the office from the laundry room. Its driving me nuts. Now, I want to buy a new refrigerator this summer.. an energy star model, because I'm confident that our dinosaur side by side is causing the outrageous electric bill. If I have to throw a dryer repair in there too.. I am not going to be happy.
Small children. Seriously. What happened to my sweet baby boy? He suddenly turns three, and I kid you not, I'm a heartbeat away from putting him in day care, just to save my sanity. So far today he has un-made two beds, not just pulling the top blanket off, but sheets, mattress pad, and all. Hes proceeded to dump a box of crackers all over the living room floor and perform the Mexican Hat Dance on them. And last but not least, he FOUND a packet of Pop Rocks (????), opened them, and dumped them on his head. Take all of that, and toss in the rest of the normal three year old stuff, and you have a mama with frayed nerves and a serious headache.
Oh.. that too. I go to look for Tylenol. Nope, out. Advil? Nope.. none of that either. I've resorted to taking DayQuil because it has Tylenol in it.
Sure enough, my mercury is in retrograde. As of 11:13PM last night. Effing planets.
I did finish the sweetest hat last night for Olyvia's birthday. But I'll blog about that when I get the embroidery done. I fear if I touch the camera today, it may break.

Well actually, mercury goes retro tomorrow (6/14)… it’s been in the shadow period since 5/31… it will go direct on 7/10… and the shadow period will last until July 24. Ugh… and then on top of all that… last night was the new moon… in gemini.
love you

Thanks for the comment on my blog, Carla. That teapot is an enire tea set including knitted tea bags with sequins inside, sugar cubes, creamer, sugar bowl, tea cups, plates and saucers and cupcakes. It is a tea spectacular. I can’t wait to see people knitting up the entire thing. I wonder, do you like New York or Madison better? They are both great cities but very different of course.
Thanks for writing.
Take care,
susan

Wow, that is a bad day. Toddlers can really amplify the intensity of everything else with their ‘trying’ behaviour. I hope today is better. And that the squeaking just stops !

Maybe the terrible twos waited until he was three to enter his body!!!

Hope you are feeling better and things resolve with the health insurance, squeaky dryer and replacing the fridge. My little man still gives me some of those days.

I used to take the kids to the sitter the next day after a day like that. I figured I’d earned a break!!
