More Sockapalooza
June 12th, 2007On Saturday, the Vino colorway from MamaLlama arrived and I was so stunned by it, that I had to cast on right away. I'm not one for pinks and purples.. but this colorway is just stunning.
I will still be doing some cabled socks (I think) in the pink Louet Gems yarn, and by August, make my final decision on which pair to send to my pal. I'm just not yet sure, which pair she'd like better.
As for the Monkey Socks.. I can see why they're so addicting. Just ask Cara. The repeat is easy, and goes quickly. The only thing I don't like so much is the flat heel. I briefly thought, as I reached the heel on Sunday, about changing it (sl1, k1 across, sl1 purl back), and I should have listened to that little voice in my head. Oh well. The next pair will have a different heel.

I have some pictures to share from our day at the Duck Race To End Racism, but I still need to edit them. And I really need to talk about The Sopranos ending (WTF?) I may find some time later today to make another post.

Ooh, very nice so far. That’s funny–when I knit my Monkeys, I didn’t even pay attention to the heel flap instructions given in the pattern, I just did my standard heel flap like you’ve described above. I didn’t even realize until I read this post that the pattern called for something different. Guess I should pay better attention!
