Blocked socks!

July 25th, 2007

Lookie what arrived in my mailbox today! Finally, the sock blockers I've continued to covet from The Loopy Ewe. I'm incredibly impressed that Sheri's husband, makes these. Way to go Mr Loopy Ewe Husband!

And they serve as the perfect model for a Sockapalooza4 update, even if its not much of an update being only one finished sock. But the good news is that I finished the super secret contract project last night and its already packed up and ready to be dropped off at the UPS Store. So that means, sock number two can be cast on. Not to mention new niece's hat and booties for her already done sweater can be worked on.

And speaking of the new niece, she made her arrival this past Sunday. See what I mean about never being able to get the layette done in time? There is a silver lining however (there always is, if you look hard enough.) New niece, whose name will never be pronounced correctly, because her mom spelled it in an incredibly silly way... is a teensy tiny wee one. So teensy tiny, that even the newborn size I made will be big on her. See.. silver lining. She has some time to grow before the package arrives!

Around a year ago on this day..

Yep, my mom did that to me and people have spelled my name wrong my whole life.
Question, I have never understood blocking socks. Don’t they sort of block on your foot? I’ve never blocked mine and they seem to look ok. Just curious.
