Pictures.. finally!

Finally! Now on to the specs..Smocked Frock from Little Turtle Knits. This pattern actually calls for a dk weight yarn, but I wanted to use up some more yarn from my massive Cotton Tots stash. So I just knit one size down and it worked out well. The pattern also has a different edging, that matches the smocking stitch in the bodice. However I've knit this dress before, and I didn't like the edge. No matter how loosely I did that edge, it still made the skirt balloon, so this time I did a simple picot edge with some green Cotton Tots that I dyed myself (I didn't have any green in the stash, so I took some white and dyed with bright green fiber reactive dye). The "seeds" were embroidered with some scrap black WoolEase. I first tried some black DMC floss, but they didn't come out quite the way I imagined.
The hat is Sandia from the June Magknits. I also tweaked this pattern by not using two strands of different shades of green for the brim which the pattern details. I think it makes the brim a little smaller, but Olyvia is a small fry anyway.
