homesickness (again)
October 5th, 2007What is it about an "off" day that makes me think about moving back to Wisconsin?
Yesterday afternoon, I found myself deeply immersed in looking at real estate in Madison (again.) And moving back, although we talk about it at least once a month, sometimes once a week, is not a plan we're developing.. or even thinking about with any real seriousness. I guess its just homesickness, dreading another upstate NY winter, missing family, missing friends.
Or its just that time of year when I start to get increasingly uncomfortable with my surroundings, and look with dread on the upcoming holidays. Seasonal depression anyone? I never believed in it.. but I'm starting to.

Well, once I sell this house in MA, you must plan on moving back to WI, so we can knit and spin together while our kids play. It will be lovely. Come on, you know you want to.
I am teasing. I know what you are going through. I’ve gone through it before. I lived a couple of years in Upstate, NY and was mis-er-a-ble. I am anticipating a long, lonely winter in MA without the dh. But I am encouraged by the possibilities that we will be in WI soon enough. It is obviously a wonderful place. I can’t go wrong with this move.

I hear ya! I live in Manlius (right outside Syracuse) and am not from here. Also starting to feel homesick for NC and dreading the winter! Happy knitting!
