re-entry is a bitch
October 31st, 2007Getting back in the groove.. with the laundry, the dishes, the kids, the blog, is harsh. And I was going to just take it easy and make re-entry a little easier, but dammit if I didn't just see this on msnbc..
Toys R Us recalls 16,000 toys.
(note now it says server too busy.. keep trying)
WTF? Again? Still?
Why are we freaking buying shit from China.. STILL?
Richard and I have some discussing to do before I start Christmas shopping. I want absolutely nothing "made in china" in my home, under the tree, or otherwise. I'm not sure how we'll do it and the kids still be happy with "Santa". But gawd.. this.has.to.stop.
Around a year ago on this day..

I totally agree. I think we should bring toy production back to the USA. I’d rather spend a little more for a well made toy and only buy my kids a few than to have a lot of less expensive toys made on foreign soil where safety is questionable.

Not just toy production, all production. This country needs jobs, and just think how many more people would have money if they had jobs?
Factory work may suck, but it’s an honest paycheck, and at least we’d be getting quality items.

Isn’t it insane? I will never understand why we can end all imports from China and make our own things. It’s not like we can’t do it. Maybe China will be mad at us. So? So is every other country in the world. LOL! And I agree with Kat. Imagine what it would do for our country to have all those jobs right here in the US. It is so simple yet for some reason they just can’t see it… or don’t want to.

This year Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports, has launched the “Get the Lead Out This Holiday Season” campaign.
So far this year more than 20 million toys have been recalled – and that’s not including all the other hazardous products. If you are left feeling a bit scared and confused shopping for loved ones this holiday season – you are not alone.
